Yasuharu joined Dentsu as a copywriter in 1995. He was soon promoted and became one of the first to work for the newly created Interactive Communication Division of Dentsu. It was at that time that he became a so-called “Interactive-Salaryman”. In 2006, he was temporarily assigned to IconNicholson and Strawberryfrog in New York. In 2010, he was also a special agent of the Cabinet Secretariat of Japanese government and helped to enhance digital communication of the former Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama.
He has received international awards at Adfest (Grand Prix and some Golds), D&AD (Yellow Pencil), the One Show (Gold and Bronze Pencils), Cannes (Gold and Silver Lion), Clio, Webby, Spikes Asia and has been a jury member at all these competitions as well.
Yasuharu has a unique style and approach to his work. His background in computer science has strongly influenced his work. His specialties were user interface design, programming, ubiquitous computing and interactive media art. He has been living in the Internet space since time began.
However, he is not just a computer geek. He loves kayaking, fishing and wild animals. From the rivers of Mongolia to the jungles of Madagascar, he pops up all over the place.
