Farid Chehab, Honorary Chairman and Advisor to the Board Leo Burnett MENA


Under his direction, Leo Burnett MENA reached and maintained creative market dominance, setting the standards and step changing in 30 years of close collaboration with multi-national clients, the marketing and creative expectation of both Clients and Advertising Agencies in the Arab World.
Chehab started his advertising career as a talented Designer, Art Director and Copywriter with Young and Rubicam in 1969. From the very beginning, he got an international exposure to the flourishing advertising business of the 70’s. He co-founded H&C Advertising with Charles Homsy in 1974. H&C made a partnership agreement with Leo Burnett in 1981. He became Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of the Leo Burnett MENA network in 1991.
In May 2006, Chehab was appointed chief creative officer for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa -CEEMEA. Under his lead, Leo Burnett became the most awarded network of the Golden Drum -the leading advertising event in New Europe- in 2008 and 2009 . Also in 2009 and 2010 Leo Burnett CEEMEA won an impressive number of International Awards including Cannes Advertising film festival, CLIO, New York film festival, Eurobest and Epica.
In 2010 He was elected “Man of the Year” by Arab Ad, the leading communication magazine in the MENA region, in recognition of Leo Burnett’s stellar performance in 2009 and for a decade of sustained outstanding creativity of the Leo Burnett network in the MENA region...
Born in Lebanon and raised in Beirut, Chehab is a Public Law and Political Sciences Graduate. His career made him a passionate Citizen of the World, His exposure to World Cultures in the demanding business of Global creative communication gave him ample time to nurture his curiosity for People aspirations and way of life while strengthening his performance in successful communication projects around the region.
Chehab is a talented speaker. He has given several conferences to the communication Industry, among them: ”The knife and the Sharpener”, “Nobel or Cannes”, “The Mother- of-all-Integration“, “Welcome to the 21st Century”, “Brand Building-The New World” and the most recent one “Soldiers or Commandos”.
He has a special passion for political communication and was the advisor of one President of the Republic and several well-known political figures in Lebanon,. Farid Chehab is also a devoted trekker and jogger, an avid reader, a skier and a sailor.
