Karpat Polat started his career in 1998 in JWT. After several years in JWT, he moved to Medina Turgul/DDB for another few years. He then continued his career in a local agency where he has won his first of many international awards. During this time, he laid his eyes on the Brazilian creative scene, and then when he had the opportunity to work there, in 2004 he moved to Sao Paolo to work in DM9 DDB. In 2006 he was back in Istanbul to lead the newly established DDB office, DDB&Co Istanbul.
In Karpat’s leadership DDB&Co. Istanbul, has been chosen globally “Agency of the year” in the third ranking in Cannes Lions 2009, laying eyes on the Turkish advertising scene for the first time ever. In 2010 the agency again became one of the globally most awarded agencies at Cannes with 4th place and Karpat Polat was in top 10 in two years in a row in most awarded creative directors of the world.
DDB&Co. Istanbul is currently the fastest growing creative agency recognized with more than 150 national and international awards in only 4 years, including Turkey’s another first-time-ever Grand Prix in Epica Awards, Epica D’or in 2009. In 2010 DDB&Co. With 3 Grand Prixs at Golden Drum Festival, 6 more awards and total amount of wins was named as agency of the year and its success lead DDB to the network of the year award.
Karpat Polat also the first Turkish creative to bring home a Lion, also the one who won the most.
According to Luerzer’s Archive rankings Karpat Polat is one of the top ten copywriters in the world.
His work has been awarded for both its creativity and effectiveness, including Gold and Bronz Effies, more than 50 Crystal Apples (Turkey’s advertising creativity awards), 6 Epica’s  and several New York Festival’s World medals including two golds and other numerous creativity awards.
When he was working in Sao Paolo in DM9 DDB, his work was awarded in Brazil with a total of 10 awards including Sao Paulo Creative Club. It was then the year DM9 DDB was awarded “the agency of the year”, Karpat had a share in this success with 2 finalists and one Cannes Lion.
His work was also appraised 11 times in Eurobest, 27 times in Golden Drum and 3 times in London International Advertising Awards.
He is the creative of the first Turkish TV spot to appear in The Shots.

Karpat was also a jury in Cannes Lions, New York Festivals, London International Advertising Awards, Mexican Advertising Awards, Crystal Apple, Kırmızı Awards, Advertising and Marketing Effectiveness and a nominee for Andy Awards 2010 before his Golden Drum jury duty.
