Mark has worked as a creative for the past 28 years in some of the world’s pre-eminent agencies. He started his career in Australia as a junior copywriter for Ogilvy & Mather, moved to Young & Rubicam in Sydney and after 2 years was transferred to Hong Kong. Mark spent a year there before moving to London where he worked for the next 14 years.
In London he was responsible for some highly awarded work for such Global brands as Findus, Holsten Pils, and Royal Post. His time in London saw him working at such top agencies as Davidson Pearce, BMP, and GGT.
Mark returned to Australia where he created some outstanding campaigns for Lemon Ruski, Stolichnya, Smiths and Panasonic.
In 1999 he headed back to London as the Creative Director of Grey Worldwide London. After 2 more years in London and an offer to return ‘home’ he took up the task of helping to reinvent the D’Arcy brand in Australia. In 2 years he and his partners had turned D’Arcy into the ‘hot’ new agency. From there he moved to George Patterson as Executive Creative Director and Managing Partner.
Whilst running Cassius Clay, his own consultancy, Mark was offered the job of National Creative Director of Leo Burnett.
Along with a series of new business wins and the creative high spot for McDonald’s with ‘Inner Child’, the agency won AdNews and B&T ‘Agency of the Year’.
