Ami Hasan is the founder, chief creative officer and chairman of a Finnish advertising agency hasan&partners, one of the most creative and successful ad agencies in the Nordic countries. The agency was founded in the middle of recession in 1991, yet with several household brands as clients it quickly grew to become one of the biggest agencies in Finland. Today the agency works increasingly with clients that see the whole of Nordic as their home market – and some even the whole of Europe or the world. Ami Hasan has been witnessing several pan-Nordic mergers, the most recent ones being the telecom giant TeliaSonera and candy and chocolate marketer Cloetta-Fazer, which are also his agencies clients. hasan&partners is known for their ability to successfully launch brands and businesses in Finland, among them IKEA, Gigantti (El-Giganten/Dixon’s), Arla, Kotijäätelö (Hemglass). After having launched IKEA in Finland in 1996, hasan&partners has worked with the Swedish retailer in several European countries. The agency has won numerous awards in major international advertising shows like Cannes, Clio, Eurobest, Epica, Cresta etc. Moreover, hasan&partners won more effectiveness awards than any other Finnish agency both in Finland and internationally, including the Grand AME (Advertising & Marketing Effectiveness) in New York.
Ami studied architecture but later switched to advertising. He is one of the few multitalented advertising people who have successfully worked as an art director, copywriter, account director, creative director, managing director and chairman. During his entrepreneurial career of about 20 years he has founded two ad agencies and later sold them to multinational advertising companies. He was a member of Cannes International Advertising Festival’s jury twice, two times a member of Clio’s jury, and also D&AD’s, president of Golden Drum jury, member of The CUP 2007 and 2008 jury and several other international and national advertising awards. He is a permanent member of the Cresta Executive Jury. Ami Hasan is also a sought-after lecturer on advertising and brand building at several universities and seminars in Finland and Scandinavia and has given speeches at advertising events in several European countries as well as in Japan and USA.
The Finnish Art Director’s Club granted him their Platinum Award 1997.
